ElecQUA Co., Ltd. Privacy Policy

ElecQUA Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as the Company) protects users’ personal information and processes it as follows in accordance with the PERSONAL INFORMATION PROTECTION ACT and other applicable laws and regulations.

Article 1 Purposes of Processing, Categories, and Retention Periods

An account is deemed long-inactive when both the last App login and the last server communication by the last registered product have been inactive for two years, calculated from whichever of those two events occurred more recently. The Account and linked information are then automatically deleted.

Deleting the App alone does not delete membership information or product information.

The wireless router name (SSID) and password entered for product registration are transmitted only to the device via Bluetooth and are not transmitted to or stored on the Company’s servers or cloud.

The Company does not permit persons under 14 years of age to register for the Service.

Article 2 Outsourcing of Personal Information Processing

The Company outsources personal information processing as follows to provide the Service.

Through outsourcing agreements, the Company establishes the matters necessary to ensure that personal information is processed securely and manages and supervises the processors.

If a user refuses the overseas transfer required for Firebase authentication for existing products, login and Account-based services cannot be used. A user who does not want an overseas transfer to AccuWeather may choose not to grant, or may withdraw, location permission for the ElecQUA App in the smartphone settings. In that case, the weather-information feature cannot be used.

Article 4 Destruction of Personal Information

  1. The Company destroys personal information without delay when its retention period expires or its processing purpose has been achieved.
  2. Information that must be retained under other laws and regulations is stored separately from other personal information and only for the required period.
  3. Electronic files are deleted using a method that makes recovery or restoration difficult.
  4. Once membership withdrawal is confirmed, the Company begins deleting personal information linked to that user’s Account.

Article 5 Rights of Users and Legal Representatives and How to Exercise Them

Users and their legal representatives may request access to, correction or deletion of, or suspension of processing of personal information and may withdraw consent. Requests may be submitted through the membership-withdrawal feature in the App or to the department responsible for personal information protection. After confirming that the requester is the user or a lawful representative, the Company handles the request in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Article 6 Measures to Ensure the Security of Personal Information

The Company implements administrative, technical, and physical safeguards required by applicable laws and regulations to prevent the loss, theft, leakage, forgery, alteration, or damage of personal information.

Article 8 Changes to This Privacy Policy

If the Company changes this Policy, it will publish the effective date and details of the changes on the website.
